VANCOUVER - Life is an endless series of choices; choices made, and choices yet to make. How you make those choices, and how you make choices in the face of adversity defines your identity and character. We've seen time and time again the Whitecaps face a rhythm of choices, but rarely do they give up 3 goals and an opposing clean sheet.
How you respond in the face of adversity and the choices you make in doing so will help define what this team is as the season progresses. Even with the substantial amount of injuries to the roster, this team as assembled has the opportunity to continue to roll on the successes of last season.
Visiting Minnesota United FC arrive to BC Place on the heels of signing James Rodríguez, and a supporter section full of Columbian supporters. James Rodríguez last saw Tomas Müller as a teammate while on loan from Real Madrid and spent 2 years on the team at Bayern Munich.
What ensued was one of the most responsive displays of choice making, and point scoring we've seen in a long time. A nearly full stadium, a less nervous looking side, and waves of pressure had the Whitecaps up 4-0 before half time. The waves continued and by the end of the match, the Whitecaps put 6 on the board, recorded their 4th MLS Regular Season win in a row, and topped the league table with a 4-0-0 record.
Choices made, outcomes achieved, character in resolve.
