VANCOUVER - Squished in the middle of the MLS regular season schedule is the CONCACAF Champions Cup, a tournament held between teams across North and Central America, and the Caribbean. Having completed the first leg of this round away at Cartaginés walking away 0-0, the Whitecaps need a win to move on to the next leg.

A slow paced start with multiple chances saw no scoring to complete the first half. Scoring finally opened in the 58th minute when Cabrera scored off a corner from Berhalter and Blackmon's assist, with the insurance coming in the 80th minute with a cross from AZ, and Berhalter persisting on his own rebound to seal the deal.

Whitecaps move on to the round of 16, and will face the Seattle Sounders on March 13th at BC Place in leg one. Leg Two comes 6 days later in a new stadium; One Spokane Stadium, as Lumen field get undergoes renovations in advance of the FIFA World Cup.
